The Local - News in English

I like the news, but this app keeps asking me to accept the cookies, like every 5 seconds even if I accept them. Makes the app unusable. Very frustrating.

That consent‑to‑cookies pop‑up popping up every other article and sometimes multiple times in a minute is a real reading killer, especially on an iPhone 15 Pro.

Reported a bug and got a fix the same day. That’s wild. Amazing team.

Excellent for Brits abroad, always have up to date issues affecting us.

App needs a major overhaul and many basic features (like the ability to bookmark articles or add them to a list) and it sorely needs a native iPad version!

Good, relevant articles with a foreigner‘s perspective. I am a bit disappointed with the app itself. It‘s made for a phone. If you have a tablet/iPad it doesn‘t take advantage of the larger screen. It‘s almost like reading through a keyhole. It would better to just login with a browser in this case.

I recently paid to become a member because the information on the Local is helpful to me and a great guide. But it’s the website/app is frustrating to use. I have paid to become a member and yet I’m unable to read materials reserved for members! Can’t even find where I ought to go to enter my login details because the payment page prevents me from moving on. 😕

I have a paid account on thelocal because their news is very good, but the app is terrible, it always logs me out, and I can almost never find the saved password, it also has a terrible interface, their website is a little better, but I keep getting ads though I pay not get ada, it’s frustrating.

I like the newly designed app. The news doesnt look cluttered anymore and is now well readable. Thanks for the update 👍
