  • Intrusive and disruptive ad placement
Ads appear at inopportune moments (mid-game, full-screen, pop-ups) and interfere with gameplay, often causing crashes or loss of progress.

    • Popup Ads Can Make You Lose — It’s a decent time killer but it can be laggy and the ads pop up in the middle of playing! Super frustrating.
    • Ad placement is horrendous — Placing their adds all over the place. It makes the game unenjoyable.
    • Too many pop up ads! — Fun game but every 10 seconds it sends you to the App Store to download another app. Very irritating!
  • Severe performance issues and lag
Game suffers from consistent lag, stuttering, frame drops, and poor optimization, especially on older devices or after updates.

    • Very laggy — App is very laggy last couple of days.
    • Fun but super glitchy — Its a fun game but over half the time it is very glitchy
    • Lag and ads — I was intrigued seeing my friend playing this on his phone. However back home on an IPad, things slow down to the point where I suspect there is a memory leak in the game.
  • Crashes and instability on older devices
Game frequently crashes on older hardware (iPhone 4/4s, iPod Touch 4th gen) or specific iOS versions (iOS 6), making it unplayable.

    • Crashes on iOS 6 — I enjoyed this game a lot but between the constant ads and the app crashing on iOS 6 whenever you lose, it's completely un-playable.
    • Crashes on iphone4 with ios6 — Title sums it up - has potential, but useless on above combination of device/ios
  • Poor game mechanics and control responsiveness
Controls are unresponsive, inaccurate, or unintuitive; the game grabs circles unpredictably, leading to frustration.

    • Blerp — Half the time the grapple won't immediately activate, the other half it will try to grab the point halfway across the screen instead of the one an inch away.
    • The controls are bulky and don't make sense — /:
    • Bad touch response — Concept is good... Could be fun... But the response time lags, so you can't be as precise as is really necessary to get anywhere.
  • Forced video ads and excessive ad frequency
Players are forced to watch lengthy video ads after deaths or mid-game, which disrupts flow and feels exploitative.

    • Forced to watch ad every couple deaths — Not putting up with that. It's fine that there's a little ad on the bottom or top or side or whatever. But forcing me to actually stop and wait for a video to play like a YouTube ad, over and over and over again? Not happening.
    • Ads too difficult to close — It takes me like 15+ time to click that puny little X and I will never download Game of War
    • Annoying ads — Ads pop up on the whole screen after every game and is extremely annoying because you have to wait a certain amount of time to close some of the ads.
  • Lack of support for modern devices and OS
Game lacks proper support for newer iPhone models (e.g., iPhone X) and fails to adapt to updated iOS versions.

    • iPhone X support? Ever? — The iPhone X has been out for years; do you guys ever plan to support it?
    • Update for Optimization iPhone X — I love this game so much, it is by far my favorite game on my phone. This app has not been updated for one year. Please please please update this application for iPhone X!
    • New update 😪 — Last update was better the green is lame
  • Poor user experience due to repetitive design and lack of guidance
Game lacks clear instructions, has repetitive music, and offers no meaningful progression or strategy, leading to quick burnout.

    • Could be good — Could be a great game but there's absolutely no explanation on how to play the game or any of the mechanics.
    • Repetitive and no room to improve strategy. — I was able to quickly figure out this game isn't going to be fun, just after playing a few minutes.
    • The game is fun. However, the developer made a tremendous mistake in the placement of ads. The game will run smoothly, but when an ad appears on the bottom of the screen, the game becomes unplayable.
  • Negative impact of recent updates
Recent updates introduced worse performance, broken features, new intrusive ads, or removed beloved elements, alienating long-time users.

    • I WANT THE OLD VERSION BACK — I don't usually write reviews for any app but I was addicted to the previous version and I want it back. The game has gotten really slow, it lags.
    • Update made the lag worse — The lag in this game was bad until the most recent update. Now it's worse.
    • Latest update kills the game — For a game that requires fast reflexes, shouldn't it be the developer's top priority to make sure it runs smoothly? Apparently not.
